This qualification is designed for registered healthcare professionals who have a defined responsibility in delivering advanced pre-hospital wound care, such as Urgent Care Practitioners, Emergency Care Practitioners, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, and similarly skilled clinicians operating within emergency, urgent, or out-of-hospital settings.

It is particularly suited to those seeking to enhance their clinical capabilities in wound assessment, local anaesthetic administration, and closure techniques.

The programme supports professional development for those aiming to expand their scope of practice, meet the evolving demands of urgent and emergency care services, and deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions in frontline and autonomous clinical environments.

• Learners must be a minimum of 18 years of age on the first day of training.
• All candidates must be registered healthcare professionals holding an active and valid registration with a recognised UK regulatory body—such as the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), or General Medical Council (GMC).
• Evidence of professional registration must be provided prior to course commencement to ensure clinical accountability and scope of practice alignment.
